The Laperal house was built in the 1930's, a fusion of Spanish and American architecture incorporating Art Deco Elements. It was formerly owned by the family of Tarcila Laperal-Mendoza; the 93-year old matriarch belongs to a landed family which had properties in Mendiola, Manila, and in Baguio City.
The White house is currently owned by tycoon Lucio Tan; the property is approximately 3,500sq.m.
the master's bedroom is in this part; could it be the 'unseen' peering out for unwanted guests?
NGEEEEEE nakakatakot... were you guys sensing something out of the ordinary during this ventures like hair standing behind your neck, or a cold breeze passing through and most of all did you capture little white sparkles on your captures? just curious manong
rich and detailed woodwork are written all over the house; this was built in the 1920's by an obviously well endowed family capable of importing the necessary materials; there was an ornate chadelier in the sala which no longer exists.

i would like to do a series of the house when the sun comes down; but wouldn't dare go in alone! Do you know they light up the rooms even when there are no guests? The series on Laperal house: Reflected realities captures the mood of the house- dark, empty, forbidding and foreboding. Very uncanny feeling inside, grand but empty.

Dude, that would be so daring...
I would like to try that and capture the truly mysterious and the unseen, it would be great to bring a video cam too... Can you add that adventure tour when I come home? I would like to take photos and confront the unknown and see what fate has to bring... Sama mo ako diyan Doc...
For obvious reasons and the eeriness the house imparted from inside and outside combined with the history.... No doubt, I would open the lights myself...
gaya ng sabi ko kay ric, hindi ko na matandaan kung saan ito in reference to teacher's camp. ang natatandaan ko sa leonard wood road ay ang ating tahanan. multiply x 6. ang gagaling ninyo. by the looks of all your pictures, the interior part of the house looks well preserved. is anybody working on restoring and preserving the exterior of the house if not all? puwede na itong maging museum to preserve part of our heritage. problema nga lang kuwarta ang kailangan. (sigh!)
salamat mike...hindi ko na rin matandaan ang geography ng baguio. saan na nga ba ang leonard wood road? navy base? under the bridge? o main thoroughfare from session road to pacdal?
yah..nun i was a little girl my father isidro de guzman bring me in that house i see a lady with a long hair.my fathers is first grandson of maxima laperal de guzman
the 'creepy' house every body wants to get to see inside; the strictly-off limits property makes it all the more alluring, mysterious and beguiling.
an interesting side note to the Arlegui property, formerly owned by the Laperals: 'Owners get back Arlegui Mansion' here's the link: http://www.malaya.com.ph/07022010/news4.html
